Karthik + Tira | Engagement Session | San Francisco, CA

Karthik reached out a few weeks ago with a plan. He wanted to get some incredible photos of him and his girlfriend of just over two years—but sneak in a proposal at the end. So Allie and I flew out to San Francisco. We were a bit nervous with how much it was raining, but it turned out to be the most perfect day to fit our moody and more intense photo style.

We did some location scouting and found the perfect spot for the proposal—a little cliff over the water on the southwest side of the Golden Gate Bridge.

We shot around The Mission for a while before heading to the proposal spot. When it came time, I proposed that we do some individual shots, then some facing the water (so Karthik could sneak in to drop down on one knee).

It was an agonizing 45 seconds as she commented how beautiful the view was until she finally turned around to her surprise. Scroll down to see her reaction.
